Maria Cotton, Deputy Accompanist

Maria started playing the piano at the age of nine and had achieved Grade 8 status in both Piano and Voice with distinction by the time she was 16. This earned her a scholarship with the London College of Music to study piano and went on to gain her Teaching Diploma ALCM at 18 years of age.

Maria has accompanied Cor Meibion De Cymru Male Voice Choir, several school choirs and Amateur Operatic Societies in the Neath and Port Talbot area. She has also held the position of Musical Director with both Resolven and Clydach & Morriston Amateur Operatic Societies.

A keen performer, Maria has played leading roles in numerous operettas and musicals in the Neath, Port Talbot and Swansea areas, as well as conducting and performing as a soloist in many concerts over the years.
